Canti Degli Aborigeni, Albatros Rec., LP, 1976
Very primitive music that has not changed for ages. "Original Ethnic Music of the People of the World" is the banner of the italian label 'Albatros'. Liners note : "Two distinct musical culture of the Australian Aborigines are documented in this recording : that of the Cape York peninsula in north Queensland and that of Elcho Island, to the north-east of Arnhem Land. This material was gathered during the course of a field-trip made by Wolfgang Laade, Professor of Ethnomusicology at the University of Zürich, sponsored by the Australian Institute of Aboriginal Studies during 1963-1964. The documents include both ceremonial and secular music, and of particular interest are the examples using the didjeridu, the most characteristic instrument of the origial culture of Australia".
