PAK is Ron Anderson (electric bass) and Keith Abrams (drums). Recorded live @ Raymond Bar, Clermont-Ferrand center of France, when they toured europe to promote their 2011 'Secret Curve' Cd produced by J Zorn/Tzadik.

I'm not really into math rock, but played with a lot of humility by very talented musicians ... it was a very nice show !

Déficit Des Années Antérieures, 5eme Anniversaire, Illusion Production, ep 7", 1984

"En Mars 1979 naissait une petite société de production dans la ville qui était au centre du monde et que l'on appelait pour cela "MONDEVILLE".
Installer son siège social rue Pierre-Curie marquait la vonlonté du groupe de prendre une orientation résolument moderne et atomique.
Deux événements extraordinaires dans le domaine de la production musicale internationale firent leur apparition dans la première année d'existance de cette société : les deux premiers 45t du Déficit des Années Antérieures.
Ces deux productions montraient l'équilibre difficile entre musique et anti-musique, équilibre pourtant habilement réalisé par le Déficit et IP.
Le premier 45t dans son emballage cadeau jouait la carte de l'anti-art/marchandise, le deuxième prenait une forme plus définie historiquement plutôt nouveau réalisme / post-musique.
[...] A l'heure où nous mettons sous presse, il semble acquis que le nouveau 45t du Déficit '5ème Anniversaire' obéi aux lois qui ont guidé les deux premiers 45t : 'Miss Vandann' et 'Front de l'Est'. On ne peut donc pas considérer qu'il fasse partie d'un cycle Iponien, à moins que ces trois disques forment le cycle des non-cyclés..."

This record, by Déficit des Années Antérieures (alias ddaa), really marked me when I was 14. i.e. : yes, fireworks are also music, and so, any sound is music ! A great revelation !

 "A la fin du 19éme siècle en Russie, qui n'était pas encore soviétique, la Russie des Tsars. Des peintres se regroupaient en confrérie afin de constituer des brigades volantes à travers le pays. Ces peintres voyageaient à pied de village en village pour présenter leurs toiles afin, pensaient ils, d'élever la conscience populaire. On prit donc l'habitude d'appeler ces peintres 'Les Ambulants'. Curieusement, la peinture des ambulants est essentiellement réaliste-figurative, alors que l'on verra dans les premières années de la révolution un éclatement complet des tendances picturales futuristes, constructivistes, prolet-kult. Puis les choses devenant ce qu'elles sont, l'édification du socialisme s'accompagnera d'un retour au réalisme, le réalisme-socialiste (toujours, évidement dans le but d'élever la conscience populaire). Les Peintres constitués en brigades de propagande parcoureront le pays en train ou en camion ..."

Another one from ddaa's Illusion Production, it's a split lp with The Twins and Rig Veeda. The Twins is a duet formed by Paul Rixon and Gillian Elam, wich play also in Rig Veeda together with David and Lesley. Lo-Fi folk pop on each side.

Un Département, Le Album, Illusion Production, 1985

Un département was a french band from Orléans, France, formed by Marcel Kanche, Phil Gaz and Bruno Tollard active from 1980 to 1985. This is their unique Lp produced by ddaa's Illusion Production in 1985. Their three productions on vynile are reissued by Infrastition (an ep 7", an ep 12" and this Lp).

Those that bite the hand that feed them sooner or later must meet THE BIG DENTIST ... This is the second Lp by Lemon Kitten a band formed by two multi-instrumentalists Karl Blake and Danielle Dax in the late 70's in Reading, England. Sounds like any other band, so unique ! Must have !
