After Tom Cora premature death in 1998, and so the end of Roof, vocalist Phil Minton, drummer Michael Watcher and bass player Luc (ex-)Ex, formed Four Walls together with pianist Veryan Weston. Both very impressives musicians, in my Top 10 best show I've seen.

Early works by Cédric Peyronnet (aka Toy Bizarre) a french sound artist from Limoges, center of France. This tape melts experimental, concrete and field recordings.
"A la base du travail de Toy Bizarre, on trouve un essai d'enregistrement de chant de grillon, en 1985 - ce fut le 'déclancheur'.
L'enregistrement magnétique permet la capture non seulement du son, mais aussi de l'âme de ce qui est enregistré.
Le travail de Toy Bizarre est d'asembler ces sons, souvent ignorés (mécaniques, magnétiques, organiques ...) en les travaillant sur bande magnétique, en les ordonnant de façon à créer une 'musique' dirigée vers l'expérimentation, qui reste poètique ou du moins incite au rêve ou à la réflexion."

The rudra-Veena is made from a thick bamboo cane which acts as a sound box, with two big resonators made from calabashes attached to each end. [...] It is probably the oldest string instrument in India and the ancestor of the sitar. Le gend has it thati it was created by Shiva himself inspired by the shape and gracefulness of his wife, Parvati. [...]
Born in 1929 in Udaipur (Rajasthan), Mohiuddin Dagar is the pupil of his father Ustad Zia Uddin Dagar who sang and played the rudra-veena and was the court musician of the Maharajah of Udaipur. [...] All the Dagar family played the rudra-veena to accompany the singing and as a vocal reference, but "in private" as a secondary art. Only Mohiuddin, who really loved the instrument, was allowed to devote entirely to it and to play it outside the house, in concerts. [...]
The rudra-veena has practically disapeared because of its difficulty and of the qualities it demands of the musician. Very feww peple play it today. Mohiuddin is considered to be the specialist. [...]
The dhrupad style is the oldest, the most classical the most austere and noble of styles and the Dagar family has been the most faithfull follower of the tradition for nineteen generations. The Raga Pancham Kosh is, in a way, of Dagar origin. [...]
