Three Candles in the Ass Fest., Report

Here are some sounds I've caught during the sweety named "Thre candles in the Ass" festival, fed by the Hand Clapping Girls

at the two DIY venues in the town I live :

David Fenech, Hotel des Vils/Clermont-Fd, July 2nd 2010

Self made pop song. Very nice, 3 songs for a 20 minutes show, a little bit short indeed. Includes a Talking Heads cover.

Movie Star Junkies, Raymond Bar/Clermont-Fd, July 2nd 2010

One told me that this Italian band played garage rock à la Birthday Party / Gun Club. It's very much lighter, but it was a good concert, very refreshing actually. Includes another Nancy Sinatra's Sand cover.

Other great show were : Oso el Roto (banjo solo), Les Morts vont Bien (Headwar personel fan of DAF), Chantal à moitié Morte (an half of Chantal Morte), Dudu Geva (happy decadance) ...

And I've met a nice guy called Jerôme Fino who work on video together with experimental musicians, he discribes his work "macro-video for musicians in action".

cuT_15 (Yann Leguay) from Eyes_For_Ears.

This project juxtaposes different experimental musicians. Each artist was asked to improvise sound work. The short video are documentations of these processes. it was almost a physical experience, the sources of sounds and the relation between movement, materials and oscillation became evident.

Je regrette un peu plus maintenant d'avoir louper le set de David F.
Pour les MSJ c'est vrai que l'album Melville fait plus dans le rock cabosse et alcoolise que le set de samedi d'ou une tres legere deception pour ma part.
